Important Information

ENGLEWOOD FIRE DEPARTMENT OFFERS:

GOOD MORNING ENGLEWOOD PROGRAM

GOOD MORNING ENGLEWOOD is a program for any senior citizen, or resident having special needs, who lives alone with no one to look in on them on a daily basis. The professional fire department of Englewood offers this service to all citizens of our community who meet the criteria.

Every morning between 8:30-9:30 a.m. A member of the fire department will call participants of the program to check that everything is all right. If there is no answer, a second call will be made a few minutes later. If no one answers the second call, a fire department unit will be dispatched to the address to make sure all is well.
Before starting the program a fire department representative interviews the applicant to obtain medical data and important information which maybe valuable in an emergency.

If you would like to try this service, or if you know anyone who might benefit from it, please contact Lt. Shawn Brown at the Englewood Fire Department

Phone: 201-568-6304
Email: brown@englewoodfire.com

Shared Housing Program

The Englewood Women’s Rights Information Center's long standing Shared Housing program provides personalized assistance to people in need of help with housing expenses and responsibilities. Shared Housing matches homeowners interested in an additional stream of income with renters in need of affordable housing. They now receive a grant from the Bergen County Division of Senior Services, and therefore are looking for seniors (although all are encouraged to participate!) interested in renting out space in their homes. Please contact The Women’s Rights Information Center at 201-568-1166 or at www.womensrights.org for more information.

KAPLEN JCC ON THE PALISADES' SENIOR ADULT SERVICES

KAPLEN JCC ON THE PALISADES' SENIOR ADULT SERVICES offers programs for the elderly, with specialized programs for those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Educational and cultural experiences help strengthen and support the mind, body and spirit and feature music, exercise, holiday celebrations, intergenerational activities and hot kosher meals. Our highly dedicated and caring staff of professionals tailor programs to meet the personal needs of each individual, as well as work hard to create a warm and welcoming environment—a home away from home. Our goal is to help participants age with dignity, have companionship, remain connected to their community, and avoid premature institutionalization.

New as of this year: bus service to most Bergen County towns, including Fair Lawn, Hackensack, Northvale, Edgewater and more!
