Emily Trepp (HaKarat HaTov Award):

Emily and her husband Walter, ob'm, moved to Englewood from New York City on January 2, 1956. They came with their two young daughters, Elaine, now married to Dr. Kenneth Tobin, and Sharon, now married to Kenneth Fried. A number of years later, their son Howard, now married to Brooke, was born. Emily is the proud grandmother of seven and great grandmother of two. It wasn't long after coming to Englewood that the family joined Ahavath Torah and Emily assumed the role of Sisterhood President from 1961-63. For her dedication and efforts on behalf of Sisterhood, Emily was honored with the 'Mother of the Year’ award. Walter held the role of synagogue president for 3 years. Both Emily and her late husband were very involved in the community, including The Moriah School, where Emily served as M.A.P. President, and to this very day she works there with the Pre-K children. Englewood Hospital is a place where Emily has given and still gives many volunteer hours. Walter was a dedicated volunteer there as well until he became ill. Emily feels so thankful to still be part of the CAT community.
